Mixed Media Kaylie Cohen

Creativity is being able to roll with the punches and still create something amazing as the end result. A creative problem I've sort of solved this year was with my final project, in which the pink and brown pink accidentally mixed together so I kind of just changed the entire color scheme to portray a different meaning than I had originally planned.

Surviving The World, Collage

The most important art principle is movement. The pick ribbon helps the eyes move from top to bottom.

Reading Rhino, Collage

The most important element of art was shape because I had to make multiple different shapes and put them together in order to make the form of a rhino.

Galaxy, Alcohol and Ink

The most important art principle is movement. The media caused a lot of mixture between colors, creating easy movement thoughout the piece.

Watermelon

The most important art element is texture, as the paper inside of the book contrast drastically from the cover pages texture-wise. The inside pages have a unique texture to to the technique used to make them.

Raining Sun, Encaustic Painting

The most important art principle is movement. While the center piece and sun attract a lot of attention, the blue throughout the piece helps move the eyes around a bit.

Solar System, Mixed Media

The most important art element is form and shape because that's how you can tell what everything in the composition is despite it being two-dimensional and three-dimensional.

Cool Rainbow, Weaving

The most important element of art was color because the similar colors and overall color scheme is what pulls all the different materials and textures together.

Disney, Mixed Media

The most important art element was color because the color changes signify different characters and are also associated with those characters.

Stress, Mixed Media

The most important art element was color because the utter disarray of colors in this piece effectively portrays the disfunctional mood/feeling that I wanted it to give off.
