America has been a refuge for many things such as wildlife, freedom, and people. Many people like immigrants have came to the U.S.A looking for freedom, a better life, and for better opportunities.

National Elk Refuge

The National Elk Refuge is located in the state Wyoming and was created in 1912. The refuge saves the habitat and provide a home for one of the Largest Elk herd in the world. This sanctuary is one of several wildlife refuges in America, which protect many different species of animals.

Mariel Boatlift

The Mariel Boatlift was a mass emigration of Cubans, between April 15th and October 31st, 1980. Approximately 125,000 Cubans had reached America in the state of Florida. Once a Cuban steped foot on American soil they were given citizenship.

Syrian Refugees

The United States has been a beacon of hope for people fleeing from persecution world wide. They've escaped from extremism, violence, and war. Over four million Syrian men, women, and children have fled their country since the conflict began in 2011.
