When did you begin working at the Carolina Union?
I started on June 20th of last year (2016) after my wife and I moved to Chapel Hill from Dallas, TX.
What does your job as the Marketing and Content Coordinator entail?
My job entails a lot of stuff, but if I had to synthesize it down to one sentence I’d say: “My job is to tell the stories of the Carolina Union enhancing student life through safe, inclusive and educational experiences.” Those stories are most often told on the web and social media through feature stories and videos. Students will probably come to recognize me as ‘that guy with the camera’, if they haven’t already.
Describe the recent time (2-3 years) before your time at the Carolina Union.
I graduated from the University of Oklahoma (Boomer!) in 2013 with a Public Relations degree. I moved home to Dallas and took a job with the public relations agency, FleishmanHillard and worked there for the next three years. I learned a lot, got to work on cool clients like Google, and loved my time in Dallas. I also met my wife, Hannah for the first time at an improve comedy show. She was performing, and I was front-row with a few of my friends. We grabbed coffee one Sunday afternoon, and the rest as they say, is history.
