Mississippi River William B

The Mississippi River is one of the world’s major rivers in the united states .It is 2350 miles long and empties out at the Gulf of Mexico. An average of 175 million tons of freight are shipped each year on to upper.The name of the boats are called barges they push the materials down and up the river. There are twenty nine locks and dams on the Mississippi River.The lock and dam control the water level .The river is known for its farm raised Catfish. It has over 300 different bird species and animals.
