Cloning- Genetically copying a cell by using binary fission or budding. It is used currently Yes there is, b/c cloning takes embryos from the womb and there have been 100s of failed attempts pros-In the medical field, cloning is used to find out about many genes that cause diseases. Cloning also is used to cure diseased (this is called "gene therapy"). It has also been used to improve the quality of the crops we eat. Cons-it is a risk of faster aging. It interferes with nature. It goes against religious ethics It is used to produce a genetically identical organism The reason people do cloning is so we don't use all of our resources in the world
Genetically modified Organisms- organism whose genome has been engineered in the laboratory in order to favour the expression of desired physiological traits or the production of desired biological products. It is currently used in plants to produce better fruit Yes, b/c it is compared to the same process of stem cells Benefits- in the United States in 1994, and by 2014–15 about 90 percent of the corn, cotton, and soybeans planted in the United States were GM. cons- It is used to force gmo’s into genes It means the food,”taste better” but it is really bad for you
DNA fingerprinting and crime scene investigation- A machine reads your fingerprint and matches it up with your DNA and identifies you. Yes they are currently used in in police forces No it isnt Benefits- helps the police idenify everyone and put them on record. Cons- RFLP required large amounts of high-quality DNA, which limited its application in forensics To see if any see if any criminal have the same finger print It is helpful in solving crimes
Stem cell research- Adult vs. Embryonic- Stem cells are an ongoing source of the differentiated cells that make up the tissues and organs of animals and plants. They are used currently to repair organs and replace dead of missing cells Yes, because it is killing a living creature of its true purpose Benefits- helps repair the dying. Cons- defects the purpose of nature Technology are still being experimented It is another way of helping others
Personal Ancestry and Paternity kits- Give the DNA that is required It is used now No because it doesn't harm humans Goes deeper in your DNA Look closer into DNA and find more about DNA

PCR and Gel electrophoresis- These things are when your negative DNA and your positive DNA cells grow bigger and slowly separate. We use PCR to take a look deeper into DNA. it is against some ethic groups because it goes against nature and it hurts to do. It merges DNA together to help fix or recover some different DNAs.
