It is hard to believe we only have four school days left in the 2020-2021 school year. The last student day will be Thursday, May 27. This Monday is our school-wide field day. Please make sure your student wear tennis shoes and appropriate clothing. If it rains, we will have our field day on Tuesday.
Weston Talent Show
Mrs. Wing, second grade teacher, has taken the lead for our Weston Talent Show. You can access a live stream of this event using this YouTube Link. The show is Wednesday, May 26 beginning at 8:30. The students have been working hard. We appreciate all the time and effort Mrs. Wing has put forth to make this a special event.

Summer 2021 ~ Free & Low Cost Activities
Summertime is almost here and the kids will soon be saying "I'm bored". What to do....what to do???? Take advantage of some of the free and low cost activities that are available in Greenfield and Indianapolis. Everything from free Friday night movies to walking on the Pennsy trail to visiting a museum to participating in the public library's summer reading program. All of these activities are not only fun, but can be used to keep your child's academic skills sharp. Ask questions about what they see, what they read, what they feel. Spark their imagination!
Summer Safety
The 80's.....most of us look forward to summer weather, but it also means we need to take safety precautions. Here are some ideas for staying safe in the heat:
- Stay in a cool, shaded area.
- Keep yourself hydrated.
- Wear clothing that's loose and light.
- Don't overdo it—work, play, and exercise more lightly than usual. Protect yourself from the sun with shade and sunscreen.
Summer Clothing Needs
- Journey Bags is a local organization that provides a week's worth of new and gently used clothing and hygiene products for children in need. If your child is in need of summer clothing, or you would like more information, please contact Tammi Caldwell at 812-473-6451.
- Changing Footprints is a local organization that provides new and gently used shoes for families in need. Shoes are available for all ages, infant through adult.
Please contact Mrs. Miller @ Weston Elementary for further information.
Food Support
Food Support Resources will be available this summer for families in need of groceries and/or daily meals for their children. This information will be made available before the end of the school year.
Plug Into nature camp
The Weston PTO would like to wish the following wonderful Weston staff members very happy birthdays!
Thank you to all Weston families and staff for making the 2020-2021 school year successful! We all worked hard and got through it together by each person doing their part. We are grateful to the staff for going the extra mile to allow our children to be in school for the entire school year. We appreciate all the wonderful support that families showed to staff and students. We especially want to thank Mrs. Welch for her leadership at Weston, tackling her first year as a principal during a pandemic!
Best of luck to all the 3rd graders as they begin their new school adventure when they return from break! We know you’ll be awesome!
Have a safe, happy, healthy, and fun summer, Weston families and staff! We’ll see you at the end of July!
The first PTO meeting of the 2021-2022 school year will be held the first week of September. Please look for more details about the September meeting in Mrs. Welch’s Weston Weekly newsletter at the beginning of the new school year.
