To organise and run three sports days in 48 hours is no mean feat. However, our PE Department were up for the challenge and delivered three truly inspiring and enjoyable events. Thank you Miss Hehir, Miss Godet, Mr Bloom, Mr Ryan and Mr Pearce for all your dedication towards making these occasions so memorable – Pre-prep, Middle School and Upper School had unforgettable Sports Days in 2019!
Although we weren’t blessed with the best of weather, our pupils certainly brightened up proceedings with their endeavours on the track and field. There were some amazing performances as our pupils took risks, showed immense courage and fought for every point available – such team spirit and camaraderie is rare to see. Talking of courage, at one point during the Upper School event there was even a race for pupils who had been injured and were on crutches. They may have had broken bones, but it wasn’t going to stop them from taking part!
Another fantastic story unfolded in the Year 7 Boys high jump event. Harman Bhamra not only won the event for Broadrick but ended up smashing the school record in the process. Harman’s jump of 1.47m is truly astonishing! Congratulations Harman.
All in all, it was extraordinary to see the way our school community came together for these events and our pupils will have fond memories for many years to come. Thank you parents for adding to proceedings with such passionate support and it was great to see so many of you in the colours of the house you were cheering on. There was a really amazing atmosphere at each event and everyone took great pleasure at being part of it.
Are you wondering who lifted the House Cup? Congratulations go to Whales in Pre-Prep, Julians in Middle School and Broadrick in Upper School. More importantly, congratulations to everybody involved – you were all part of the fabric that makes events like these so very special.
