Although it's has "lily" , it is in fact not a member of the lily family!

The name "Daylily" refers to the fact that the blooms only last one day. They bloom the morning, and die by night. Despite the short life span these are the perfect periennial plant because they are one of the easiest and hardiest periennials around. Once established they are practically carefree and can survive the coldest winters and hottest summers. Daylily can grow between 6 inches and 6 feet tall! Fun Fact: Daylilies are edible and contain many beneficial vitamins. Eating them can help detox the body, and help cure insomnia.
