Delhi Dekho Dekho Dilli Dekho, Dil Walo ki Dilli Dekho!

Teach for India-Delhi is the biggest site with over 400 fellows (2016) working relentlessly! That means such a big support system! Fellowship is going to be a roller coaster ride (quite literally) and one should know about the city to make this ride meaningful, fun and interesting!

Given the tight budget you are going to live on for the next two years, here are some best places to eat delicious food at a pocket friendly cost...

Indian Coffee House - With the amount of meetings we have per week, ICH is the best place with an open space with the view of Central Delhi.
QD's Restaurant - For the Chinese lovers, Tandoori Momos is their signature dish! The quantity they serve is huge!
Saravana Bhavan - A must-try for every South-Indian food lover. Authentic sweets to traditional delicacies, all will satisfy your taste buds.

However stereotypical it may sound, fellowship calls for two years of wearing chic kurtas and junk jewellery!

Delhi metro commuters are always in a hurry and DMRC realises that. Apart from the emergency stop button, the DMRC escalators also have a sari guard feature that deflects loose clothing from getting trapped.

The Delhi Metro network consists of a total of 200 trains covering a total distance of 69,000 km every day. To put things into perspective, the earth's total circumference is 40,075 km!

An NGO, Salaam Balak Trust, runs an orphanage at Tis Hazari for the DMRC. It is aimed at helping street children have better futures.
