Lake Superior is found between United States and Canada. Some states that border Lake Superior are Ontario (province in Canada), Michigan, and Wisconsin. There are many surrounding towns such as, Hancok, WaWa, Superior, and Munsing.

During most winters the lake is 40 to 95% covered with ice, although it rarely freezes completely over. Last time that almost happened was in 2014. The lake affect snows extend to 20 to 30 miles radius. Because of that average annual snowfall in Michigan, Keweenaw exceeds to 200 inches in certain places. On this lake in particular, a Sea Smoke was found on Lake Superior. Sea Smoke is when cold are hits the warmer water of the lake, that layer if warm water cools rapidly and consents into vapor form.
History
First people who came to Lake Superior region 10,000 years ago after the retreat of glaciers in the last ice age. the people who came first are known as the Plano. If you go in the winter, there are activities in most hotel around the shore of Lake Superior. There is also the Great Lakes Circle Tour. There is a ice fishing area near the North Shore of Lake Superior.
