New 150 Building Reading Mural

Our 150 Building Principals requested a reading-themed mural for the 150 Center Stairwell. Art teachers, Ms. Galie and Mrs Teodecki, and Instructional Assistant, Mrs. Davis, designed and created this giant mural with a surprise panel celebrating retiring Principal, Mrs. Mraz.

Pictures of the mural and unveiling for Mrs. Mraz.

We are also proud to announce that every student in the 150 Building helped create our reading-themed mural by adding their unique thumbprint! Also, while the current mural is already on display, students in the 150 Building will add one additional panel every year. The goal is to make the reading-themed mural continue all the way up the four-story stairwell.

Collegium Employee Spotlight

This Newsletter section highlights one Collegium employee each week and allows families and students to get to know them even more. Now, when you see featured employees on campus, you'll have a better chance of being able to greet them by name and strike up conversations!

From the CCS Home and School Association (HSA)

Serving in a capacity similar to a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) or Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), our HSA owes its success to the efforts of our many parent, teacher, and staff volunteers!

PAWsitive Praise

1. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all the parents, students, and families who came together to make Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week such a great week for our amazing staff here at CCS. The teachers and staff were truly in awe of their week full of events and generosity.

2. Thank you to all of the parent volunteers who worked countless hours during Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week to prepare, setup and cleanup. And a special THANKS to, Jenn Fisher, for taking on the role of Chairperson for Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week.

3. Thank you to all the students and families who submitted Box Tops for our Spring FLASH Contest. Our HSA volunteers are hard at work counting and determining winners. More information will be shared as soon as possible.

Cougar Family Cookbook

Recipes "poured in" for our first Cougar Family Cookbook, featuring a wide variety of recipes directly from our students, staff, and families. Now is your last chance to submit your order - we're extending the order deadline to 4:00pm on Monday, May 8th.

Ladies' Night Out BINGO

In order for our Ladies' Night Out BINGO event to be a success, we need to sell a minimum of 100 tickets. At this time, 42 tickets have been sold and the event remains in jeopardy.

Our event is scheduled for May 13th from 6:00pm until 9:00pm in the 500 Building Gymnasium. If you were planning on making ticket purchases at the door, that may not be an option. Instead, the HSA is urging all families to purchase their tickets now so the event can take place.

We will monitor ticket sales between now and the end of the weekend. A decision regarding whether or not Ladies' Night Out BINGO will take place will be announced on our HSA Facebook page by Monday evening.

Questions? Please email the HSA Officers directly.

School Store Volunteers

The schedule for volunteers is posted through the end of the school year! The students are still excited to be able to shop on Wednesday mornings and at lunch time, but this is only possible if we have volunteers to work the stores. Please signup today!
