Teaming Up FoR Math

2nd grade students put their pencil to the paper or their "pen to the smartboard" as they work together to solve math problems and build fact fluency.

Special Guests in 1st Grade

First grade students have had several special guests this fall. These guests provided some fun, hands-on learning opportunities for our Washington Wildcats. Students learned how timber is logged from the forest, sent to the mill, and turned into the paper they use every day. Students even had the opportunity to make paper! Students had a presentation from the Forest Service, and surprise guest, Smokey Bear, made an appearance!

Brain Break!

Students need to move! Throughout the academic day, it is important to get our students moving. Students move through activities that wake up their body and mind, they also help connect the left and the right brain, increasing brain power.

Cultural Opportunities

Washington Elementary School received the Confluence Grant, a grant that supports cultural learning within the school. In this photo, Mildred Quaempts is seen helping students complete a mat.

Buddies are the best!

1st Grade and 5th Grade students buddy up for learning.
