Harvest Assemblies

Thank you to all of you that donated to our Harvest Assembly. The volume of donated food items was tremendous. The Food Bank have collected the items today and we hope that many in our local community benefit from your generosity. Thank you.

It’s sometimes tough being a parent

Thank you to all the parents that came to the session earlier this week. It was good to see you and hopefully the ideas/experiences shared will be of help. If you didn’t manage to get here and you have got children at home who are displaying challenging behaviour we are holding another session on Tuesday 29 October at 9.00 am.

Year 5/6 Football

Absolutely fantastic football played last night. The team ‘smashed it’ against both St Edwards’ and St Joseph’s, with 15:2 and a 10:1 wins. Mr Clegg was super proud and said ‘This is the best I have seen them play so far this season and some of the goals were tremendous’. Well done to all team members.

Car Parking

We have unfortunately had a few complaints from parents about other parents/ guardians parking both dangerously and illegally. Double yellow lines and zig zags are there for a reason – please do not park or stop here. We have reported this to our Neighbourhood Policing Team but if you have further concerns please report any incidents online at https://reportitonline.lancashire.police.uk/ or by calling 101.

Friends of Avondale

The friends have been busy collecting used uniform and are planning on selling it on Thursday night during Parents’ Evening.

The Halloween Disco is booked for 30 October. Parent volunteers are needed for the event to run – so, if you are able to help please either contact friends@avondale.blackburn.sch.uk or ring the office on 703449.

Sum Dog Competition Winners

Well done to Class 4P who have won a maths competition on Sum Dog and will receive a 6 month subscription to all the games.
