Happy New Year! We trust that 2017 has started off well for you. We have prayed this scripture over you as you:
"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26
Our Swan Song
At the end of singing contests when a contestant is voted out, they are sometimes given a chance to sing one last song before they leave. We have been feeling like this month is like that - our swan song. At the end of the month, the Hoffmans will say goodbye to being part of the His Kids team here at Rosebank and take the next two months to focus on preparations to move to Kenya and join our church plant team there. We cannot describe the joy that it's been in the Rosebank team. We honour the men and women over the years that have discipled us as single people and walked with us through getting married. These are the people we have laughed and cried with, people who have celebrated the successes and coached us through the failures. They have been family to us and we are going to miss them when we are gone.
“Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few..."
The next two months will see us taking a large part of our Sabbatical to raise financial partners so that we can go to Kenya in April. Our Pastors, both in SA & Kenya, are fully behind us going but also do not want to see finances being a struggle for us when we hit the ground running.
We know that Ministry Partnership is the way that God has chosen to enable us to be on the mission field and we are thankful for your faithful partnership throughout the last year. We thank the Lord for each Rand that comes in each month, but the reality is that we are far from where we need to be.
Just as the widow's son's, in 2 Kings 4, went out and collected the jars we believe that as we ask all our partners to share with us JUST ONE REFERENCE of someone who would be at all interested in hearing about our ministry and partnering, then through that God will do a miracle! What is impossible with man is possible with God so although it seems like such a simple thing join us in what God can do! Could you help us out by referring us to ONE PERSON you know and we would love to have coffee with them during February and sharing our vision for Kenya, asking them to partner? You can simply send us a message with their name and number after you've spoken to them.
It has now been just over two years from when we answered the call to GO! to Kenya and nothing is going to hold us back. The next few months of ministry updates will share the journey with you.
Love, Lennon & Letty
