Pandemic Perspectives Cindy Vega 3/30-4/3

The BIGGER PICTURE

After being cooped up for days in front of computer screen, I decided to go out for a drive with my mom. We didn't have a destination in mind, we just wanted to drive through familiar streets in our city. For a moment I found myself lost admiring the beautiful early evening sky, admiring the different colors of purple and pink as dusk fell to night. The drive turned out to be much needed therapy.

Stress buster

Exercising is one of my favorite ways to relieve stress. Staying at home was not going to stop me. Everyday around 4:00pm I walked over to my home gym, connected my speaker, and started my work out. I escaped for some time and allowed my mind to go blank.

Dining in

Every night we sit down for dinner. This situation has caused me to realize how precious time is. I enjoyed every time my family would sit down and talk endlessly over a meal my mom prepared for us. I even appreciated the time I spent cleaning up afterwards.

Virtual Teamwork

During spring break I met up with the yearbook staff to discuss how were were going to finish our yearbook in a week, virtually. As club editor I had to figure out a way to communicate with sponsors in order to finish my section in time. I didn't know how we were going to do it, but everyone did their part and we ultimately completed over 250 pages by our deadline. I was so proud of how we were worked together as a team besides the difficult circumstances.
