yoga at the edge of the world 27th April to 4th may 2019 | co. clare, ireland

Experience the Yoga of homecoming. At the edge of the world, where Celtic mythology meets Indian philosophy and both merge to underpin a deeper understanding of the world that surrounds us and our place within it.

In Yoga we need to keep a dialogue between the East and the West and practice sensitive cross-cultural fertilisation. Russil Paul

This little stone lay upon the Flaggy Shore, a little beach close to where we will be staying. Although we will be there in May and not in the Autumn, as the poem below suggests, I am sure you will experience its mysterious beauty then, and maybe your heart too will open wide.

You will be invited to join three guided hikes through the mysterious landscapes of the Burren - once a tropical seabed, it still carries tales from way back when, etched into its stoney skin.

The Aran Islands - once refuge for the learned, where manuscripts were kept safe and copied for generations to follow.

We will be making a day trip to Inishmore and besides learning about its fascinating history and listening to Irish being spoken by its inhabitants, we will venture out to the very edge of the world to a promontory fort, which holds many a mystery more. Curious?

Arrival on Saturday, 27th April after 4pm. Tea and snack, restorative grounding yoga, dinner at the house. Sunday - Saturday: early morning qi-gong and meditation at the house, smoothie, drive to 'Reflections' yoga studio, 2h practice, brunch at a local venue, hike in the Burren, personal time, restorative yoga, dinner. On one of the days (weather dependant) we will travel to the Aran Islands and explore them by bicycle and on foot. On this day, the programme schedule will change, of course!

The Burren with its hazel woods, holy wells, wishing trees, enchanting landscapes & the Aran Island of Inishmore - unique in its beauty and relevance in keeping Celtic lore alive.

Most yoga practices will take place at Jack's studio 'Reflections', a 15 minute drive away, morning qi gong and meditation and some evening restorative yoga classes will take place at the holiday home.
