Muir Woods Christmas day 2016

We set out early, hitting the freeway by 6:30.

After only a brief stop to satisfy Diahan's curiosity that going south first would actually lead us north, we were off.

Of course the entire reason we went south to go north was to see this beautiful view. It really was perfect timing, with the sun fully up, but the road still quiet.

We look happy, but really we are just cold.

Thanks to Denise we did actually get a parking space. It was only a short walk up the walkway to the visitor's center. We realized later as we came out that we were so early that they weren't charging the entrance fee yet!

We initially decided to walk to the fourth bridge.

Henry and Papa.

Family picture.

Henry finds a tree to play in.

Jared joins him.

Nona and Eleanor on the detour trail. It was very high, and very far down, which made Eleanor very nervous.

Jared and I hike up the Panoramic trail to see, well, the sun!
