Refuge Hunting Camp Nov. 21-23, 2016

We hosted our first Refuge Hunting Camp of the year November 21-23, 2016. It was the first camp in our new lodge and we believe that the new lodge in Tallahatchie County Mississippi will allow us to make a greater impact in the lives of both youth hunters and the adult guides that accompany them to camp.

We hosted 8 youth hunters from across the state of Mississippi. We spent time learning God's design for wildlife conservation while spending time in the woods and in the Word of God. We believe that the Bible teaches us to enjoy creation, practice conservation, and follow Christ.

Every youth hunter in camp saw deer which is one of our goals. We want them to be able to see deer and witness their behavior in their natural environment. The one problem we had during this camp was getting them within range of our youth hunters. We only had one youth hunter who was able to harvest a deer. Brayden Nance was able to harvest a nice 7 pt.

One aspect of a Refuge Hunting Camp that is always a favorite is our Sportman's Challenge. In the challenge both youth hunters and guides learn to shoot archery, 22 rifles, and skeet and then compete in either a team competition or against one another. Below is a few pics of the challenge from camp.

To cap a great camp story off how about a prayer from Braydon Nance. The prayers of a youth hunter never get old!
