2018-2019 Equipment Needs

The Jacksonville University Strength and Conditioning department is looking to purchase new training equipment for the athletic field house weight room in the 2018-2019 school year. These enhancements will allow the strength and conditioning staff to implement new and creative training methods to better equip student-athletes to excel on the playing field.

"It is our responsibility to make sure that all student-athletes and Jacksonville athletic programs have the necessary equipment to train, and they are physically prepared to compete on the national landscape. Your donation to the strength and conditioning program will provide us with the essential tools to ensure our continued success in JU Athletics." - ANDREW BATES, Head Strength & Conditioning Coach
  1. EZ Training Straps with Chains
  2. Multi-Grip (Neutral) Barbell
  3. Kettlebell Set

1. EZ TRAINING STRAPS WITH CHAINS

EZ training straps with chains are utilized in variable resistance training. This method of training allows the strength staff to safely load the weight on an exercise and likewise increase the speed of the exercise. This method is great for in-season training to keep the athletes stronger during competition.

Cost: $164.95 per set

Need: 8 sets

Total: $1,319.60

2. MULTI-GRIP (NEUTRAL) BARBELL

The multi-grip barbell is a modified barbell with multiple grip handles in place. The neutral grip handles place less stress on the shoulders during any upper body press exercise and allows us to safely train any of our throwing sport athletes.

Cost: $399.00 per bar

Need: 8 barbells

Total: $3,192.00

3. KETTLEBELL SET

Kettlebells are great tools to incorporate into any lift. They build long lean muscles, improve strength and power in the upper body, lower body, and core muscles while increasing muscle coordination, joint stability, and muscular/cardiovascular endurance. They are also applied as modifications to exercises for our injured athlete population to safely yet effectively train around their injury.

Cost: $75.45 per kettleball

Need: Two of each, 10 kg, 12 kg, 14 kg, 16 kg, 18 kg & 20 kg kettleballs

Total: $905.40

Total Fundraising Goal for Weight Room Equipment Enhancements:

$5,500.00
