Virginia Lake Dog Park Reno, NV

Man, what is it with these Reno dog parks? This looks totally unassuming, right? It's in the middle of a suburbs less than 10 miles away from Reno.

And it's still huge!

It has everything you need! When we got there there were tons of locals hanging out, including three other huskies! You Reno humans sure like big dogs!

Once you enter the park, you quickly realize how much space there is.

Facing the entrance

It's mostly dirt with some wood chips along the side.

I wrestled so hard with a husky mix here. I like Reno's dogs! They sure do know how to play; It's not often big dogs will chase me!

At the opposite end from the entrance there is agility equipment, which no dog was using since we were all too busy playing with each other.

My face says it all - that's how I feel about agility equipment. 😑 Nope.

Reno ❤️ 💛 💚 💙 💜 🖤 dogs.

The park isn't as nice as Link Piazzo (but really, not many parks ever will be), but it's still definitely nicer than some of our SF local parks. What it lacks in decor is made up for in space and cleanliness, at least for the big dog area.

This park had plastic bags tied to every side of the fence so that no human could make an excuse about not having poop bags ready.

The small dog area was kind of depressing - essentially just a long strip of dirt and there was no one in there. In fact, everyone just used the big dog area and we all got along fine.

The park is also conveniently located by a lake.. Can you guess the name? (Virginia Lake), so if your pup doesn't want to play you can always go for a leisurely stroll around the lake and watch the ducks and geese, or if you have a bike you could go bikejorning!

As nice as the Reno dog parks are, for some reason all the directions are off. So for this one, if you want to check this place out, make sure to map to here.
