The biggest thing I hope you got from the call yesterday was how incredibly proud I am of this team. Everyone came together, stepped up and delivered an outstanding Week 13. I believe when 2017 is over, we will be able to attribute our success to overcoming a slow start and turning it into a comeback for the ages.

We now have 19 MKDs who look like they are on the 2.8 superhighway. Congratulations to the following market directors on their Q1 FAME qualification:

Please remember, if you have a manual adjustment request for yourself or another W-2 member of your team, please send to Chad Sasser before April 14.

The end of Q1 also means we have our early leaders in the FAME to Pebble Beach contest. The Central territory is out to a commanding lead , but I have a feeling this contest is going to tighten up significantly in the coming weeks. Here are the standings after Q1:

Take a look at the complete FAME leaderboard to see where your market ranks.

*Please note, these standings are complied from data from the FAME report and do not include manual adjustment requests.

We also now have 30 MKDs who have qualified for National Convention to Hawaii. That means there are 33 still to go. For those of you who are still striving to hit FAME, consider this: Markets who hit FAME averaged from 8 to 31 percent higher in eight key metrics. In short, you need to make FAME your priority.

Celebrate our superstars

Congratulations to the 150 agents and the five MKDs, MKTs and MAAs who achieved superstar status in Q1. Texas-S and Tennessee hit the top of the leaderboard, with seven associates earning a ticket to Columbus this May. Winners will join me at the Employee Appreciation Week grand-finale celebration, where employees and executives will bring down the house for their remarkable achievement. Check out our winners.

You can view all the other Q1 leaders here. Congratulations to everyone who made it onto the leader board. Keep up the good work.

What’s the key to increasing existing account business? Provide veteran associates with the iNSIGHT and ongoing development opportunities they need to have more relevant and effective sales conversations. The iNSIGHT Conference you and your market trainer host next month is the catalyst in moving veterans from transactional talks to solutions-based conversations.

Follow the advice of MKDs Jeremy Frye and Barry McPherson, leadership council members, and:

  • Be an active sponsor and participant in your iNSIGHT event.
  • Use the training curriculum and materials provided – customization will come into play with follow-up activities.
  • Make sure your entire team supports veteran associates as they refresh their relevancy by using the Aflac EDGE model and other tools provided.
Weeks 14-26

Spread the word about the new second-quarter “Power of You” contest. Open to associates and single-producing brokers with at least 53 weeks tenure, the contest is designed to show how rewarding it can be to protect others.

The contest runs Weeks 14-26, 2017. More contest details will be on the way soon.

Both Chairman And CEO Dan Amos and President of Aflac U.S. Teresa White shared how proud they were of this team and the incredible comeback in Q1. Dan has full confidence that as long as we continue to drive and capitalize on the momentum we have, that we will hit our targets in 2017.

Once again, Thank you for your leadership, partnership and dedication to Aflac. Q1 proved you can't underestimate this team, and I know we have even bigger things in store for Q2.
