Synopsis

Reliving Mark is a six-part docudrama that examines the portrait of Jesus that appears in the earliest written account of the life of Jesus of Nazareth—the Gospel of Mark. The series, which was filmed in Israel, follows the fundamental theme that guides the Gospel of Mark, “Who is Jesus of Nazareth?” In answering this question from Mark’s Gospel, the series draws upon archaeological remains connected to Jesus’ ministry and on Jewish customs and practices.

HOST

Carl Cosaert

Carl Cosaert is the Dean of the School of Theology and professor of Biblical Studies at Walla Walla University, where he has been since 2005. His interest in the ancient world and the Bible led him to complete two Masters degrees and a doctorate in New Testament and Early Christianity at the University of North Carolina. Before coming to Walla Walla University, Carl served as a pastor for ten years.

When not teaching or spending time with his family, Carl enjoys traveling internationally, writing, and leading tours the Middle East. According to Carl, there is no better place to learn about the stories in the Bible and to grow in faith than by visiting the lands where it all took place. It was his desire to share this experience with others who might never have the opportunity to travel to the lands of the Bible themselves that led to the creation of Reliving Mark.
