Chocolate Chip Cookies aunt kathy

  1. 2 eggs ( room temperature)
  2. 1/4 cup plain shortening
  3. 1 cup butter (room temperature)
  4. 1 cup white sugar
  5. 1 cup brown sugar packed
  6. 1 Tablespoon vanilla
  7. 1 teaspoon baking sods
  8. 1 teaspoon sea salt
  9. 3 1/3 cup flour
  10. 2 cups chocolate chips
  11. 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)


Set oven temperature to 350 degrees.

Combine flour, salt, and baking soda in a separate bowl. Set aside.

Combine butter, shortening, sugars well at medium high speed. Add eggs, continue blending until the mixture appears fluffy.

Add vanilla, then slowly add flour mixture until well blended. Mix in chocolate chips and nuts if desired. Make 1 inch balls and place on cookie sheet. ( I use a small ice-cream scoop) Bake cookies for 13 minutes. Will make approximately 4 dozen cookies. Dough can be frozen and stored in the freezer for up to 6 months.
