Year 25 of producing events proved an interesting one! After seven successful events including six cycling and one running in 2020 and NO reported Covid-19 cases, our self-start events worked out as well as we had planned and hoped for. In 2021 we produced all of our events and hosted Mass Start events after the first weekend of June. Outdoor activities are safe in general, and racing and running events are safe as long as necessary precautions are taken. We will get through this together for a good day outside and return to normal as the months tick by.
The State of Oregon as of 8/27/21 until further notice with hospitals at capacity: Please wear a buff, mask when distancing is not possible in group settings. Please mask up in the Packet Pickup, team tent area, Porta potty's and staging until 1 minute prior to starting when you can stash your mask for the race. We will distance the Podium for photos or plan too to be mask-free if you choose.
Please know that anytime you enter an indoor space to mask up until further notice. THX
1. Please come with your water bottle/pack pre-filled and ready to go with enough to make it through your adventure. As always be self-sufficient anytime on your bike and take advantage of our on course support per event.
2. Enhanced sanitation including sinks and hand sanitizer will be in place at the start/finish area and extra hand sanitizer at aid stations. Use them as soon as you arrive, after you use the restroom, and after you finish the race.
3. Aid stations are not limited as of June 2021 but enhanced with pre-packaged food and other items in single-serve wrappers or containers. We will be offering more selections in 2022, with single-serve options and drop bags that you provide for refueling.
4. Some food will be pre-packaged and given with your plate or bib number at our one-way packet pickup. Please be as self-sufficient as possible for your food needs while on the bike.
5. Any volunteers or participants will be communicated to prior to the event relating to Covid-19 signs of illness.
6. Volunteers and participants will be briefed beforehand on all extra precautions.
7. Results will be live and in most cases your result will be texted to your phone
8. All waivers are signed online via Bike Reg to avoid crowding.
9. Given that our surveys told us 90% of our cycling participants did consider or get vaccinated in 2021, this would lead us to believe that a higher percentage than the national average exists at our events. In 2022 we have limited data other than the fact that we all have a good chance moving forward between the booster and natural immunity. We do not require and are not considering any vaccine mandates to attend our events. Do what's best for your situation and use good hygiene.
