Black Mountain Elementary School Preparing students for the global stage

CCUSD has been nominated as Best of 2021 in the North Valley again this year. The 2021 daily voting is underway and ends March 2nd.

Technological innovation is fundamentally transforming education, and updating the skills required for the contemporary workplace. In addition to foundational academic skills, schools should focus on skills essential for workplace and live success, addressing the disconnect between employer needs and existing instruction.

Many of these skills are not taught in a traditional elementary classroom but are through Project Based Learning and the Arts. BMES does both.

One of the ways that Black Mountain Elementary School develops these skills through the Arts. Most schools merely focus on lower level skills and leave critical skill development up to chance. We believe that your child is worth the explicit teaching of essential skills (such as communication, creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking) and do so by offering distinguished programs available to very few students in the United States (Only 3% of elementary schools in America offer dance and 4% of elementary schools in America offer theater).

If you know anyone waiting to enroll, please let them know that even though schools can enroll year round, doing so sooner ensures that we are given the best staffing possible for the next school year. Registering now helps their child and yours.
