Generations Tea

Thank you to the multiple generations of women who joined us for our annual Generations Tea on April 24. One of our favorite spring traditions, this unique event fosters the connections between Sacred Heart Greenwich alumnae and our international network of schools.

Alumna Navy Pilot Lieutenant Commander Hutter (Katie McGurty '01) shares advice with students interested in military careers via FaceTime

We love when our alums can offer real-life expertise to current students! Recently, three members of the Class of 2019 had the opportunity to speak to Alumna Navy Pilot Lieutenant Commander Hutter (Katie McGurty '01) via FaceTime. All three students are interested in pursuing careers in the military, including Athena Corroon '19 who will attend the US Naval Academy this fall and plans on pursuing a career as a naval aviator. LCDR Hutter provided insight and answered questions for our seniors about her time in the NROTC at The University of Notre Dame, her Naval War College program, and flight school.

Aggie Ryan '16 visits Broadcast Journalism students

Alumna Aggie Ryan '16, currently a film student at SMU, returned home to Sacred Heart Greenwich to give current broadcast journalism students a glimpse into studying film at the college level. Aggie provided firsthand tips to the young film students about how to continue to pursue a film career once they leave King Street.

Nicole Polemeni-Hegarty '13 Guest Speaker at Cum Laude

This month, sixteen members of the Class of 2019 were inducted into the Cum Laude Society in recognition of their academic accomplishments.

Alumna guest speaker Nicole Polemeni-Hegarty '13, Mechanical Engineer at Blue Origin, gave an inspiring speech highlighting how her years at Sacred Heart Greenwich gave her the drive and determination to work in such a challenging and male-dominated field.

Indra Nooyi P'02, '11 joins Margaret Brennan '98 at the Women in the World Summit

This month, the former PepsiCo CEO and Sacred Heart Greenwich parent Indra Nooyi, mother of Preetha Nooyi '02 and Tara Nooyi '11, sat down with CBS's Margaret Brennan '98 for an inspiring discussion at the 2019 Women in the World Summit in New York City. Watch as the two women discuss the topic of balancing work and family and Nooyi's new passion, promoting better support to caregivers to enable working parents, especially women, the opportunity to succeed in the workplace.

Erin Manning '13 and Jenna Hascher '13 serve as judges at the 10th Annual Film Festival

On April 4, students, faculty, alumnae, and family gathered in the Lennie and John de Csepel Theatre for the tenth annual Film Festival. Sacred Heart Greenwich Upper School Broadcast Journalism students hosted, organized, and showcased their films at the “Time Flies” themed event. Thanks to all of the alumnae who attended the festival, especially our judges Erin Manning '13 and Jenna Hascher '13!

Sylvia Khoury '08 leads workshop at 2019 Writers Festival

Co-hosted by Sacred Heart Greenwich, Greenwich Academy and Brunswick, the Annual Writers Festival featured accomplished writers who offered students advice and lead workshops. This year, our very own Sylvia Khoury '08, playwriter of Selling Kabul, Power Strip, The Place Women Go, and Against the Hillside, held a playwriting workshop at the event.

Gabby Giacomo '15 writes and directs short film, "MacBeth"

A senior at the New York University, Tisch School for the Arts, Gabby Giacomo '15 has written and directed a short film, "MacBeth," which focuses on the importance of arts education for women.

Julienne Morris Callaway '83 passed away at home on March 28 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Beth Sullivan, former 6th grade teacher and Head of the Middle School, passed away at home on April 16 after a long battle with cancer.

Joanna Bertsch Yaukey ’58, sister of Judy Bertsch Ritter ’58, passed away on April 16.

Allan Prichard, husband of Lisa Gowdey Prichard '70, passed away on April 2.
