The Lander women's soccer team earned its first win over Peach Belt Conference foe UNC Pembroke in five years as the Bearcats used two goals from Brianna Taylor to score a 2-1 victory at Van Taylor Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Lander volleyball team rallied from an early deficit to top UNC Pembroke, 3-1, on Monday night in Finis Horne Arena.
The Bearcats will face UNC Pembroke on the road Friday night before traveling to Francis Marion on Saturday.
The 10th-ranked Lander men's soccer team earned its fourth win away from home this season with a 2-1 road win over Carson-Newman on Wednesday night.
The Bearcats moved into sole possession of second place in the Peach Belt Conference with a 3-0 win over North Georgia on Saturday night at Van Taylor Stadium.
Lander travels to Chowan on Wednesday afternoon and Georgia Southwestern on Saturday night.

The Lander men's soccer team swept the Peach Belt Conference weekly awards for the second time in program history on Monday.

Jordan Skelton netted home both goals in Lander's 2-1 win over Carson-Newman on Wednesday. He then helped the Bearcats blank North Georgia for the team's eighth shutout of the season.
Kyle Ferguson anchored a Bearcat defense that allowed only one goal in two matches, including the shutout of the Nighthawks. The sophomore also scored his second goal of the season, heading home the eventual game-winner against North Georgia.
Jacob Withers picked up his second weekly honor after playing all 180 minutes in the two wins last week. He made five saves against North Georgia to post his fifth shutout in seven starts this year.

The 19th-ranked Lander men's golf team finished 12th at the Copperhead Championship on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lander women's golf team posted an 11th-place finish at the LeeAnn Noble Memorial in Dahlonega, Ga., on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lander Athletic Department will host the Seventh Annual Bearcat Monster Bash and Halloween Walk from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Jeff May Complex.
