Wavelength is the length between the crests of a wave
Frequency is when something occurs often
What's the relationship between wavelength and frequency?
The higher the frequency the shorter the wavelength
There are many waves on Electromagnetic Spectrum, let me tell you about all of them.
The first type of wave we are going to talk about is RADIO WAVES, Radio waves are the waves that let your music play in the car. Radio waves travel at the speed of light and they have frequencies from 3 THz to 3 kHz and the wavelengths can range from 100 micrometers to 100 kilometers.
The second types of wave we are going to talk about is MICROWAVE WAVES, Microwave waves are a form of electromagnetic radiation. Microwave waves have frequencies from 300 MHz to 300 GHz and the wavelengths can range from one meter to one millimeter
The third type of wave we are going to talk is INFRARED WAVES, Infrared waves is invisible radiant energy and electromagnetic radiation. Infrared waves wavelengths range from 400 THz to 300 GHz and the frequency for this certain type of wave is 700 nm to 1mm
The fourth type of wave we are going to talk about is VISIBLE WAVES, Visible waves are a portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that is visible to our eyes. Visible waves wavelengths can range from 390 to 700 nm and the frequency for this type of wave is 430 THz to 770 THz
The fifth type of wave we are going to talk about is ULTRAVIOLENT WAVES, Ultraviolent waves wavelengths can range from 400 nm to 10 nm. The Ultraviolet waves have a frequency is 7.5 x 1014 Hz to 3 x 1016 Hz
The sixth type of wave we are going to talk about is X-RAY WAVES, X-ray waves is a form of electromagnetic radiation. X-ray waves have wavelengths that can range from 0.01 to 10 nm also the frequency of x-ray waves is 30 PHz to 30 exahertz
The seventh type of wave we are going to talk about is GAMMA WAVES, Gramma waves have wavelengths that can range from 10 to 11 meters and the frequency of gramma waves is 25 to 200 Hz
What are the waves used for in our day to day life?
Radio Waves- We use radio waves to listen to our favorite music in the car
Microwave Waves- We use microwave waves to warm or cook up our food
Infrared Waves- We use infrared waves to look through night goggles while in the woods
Visible Waves- We use visible waves for our light bulbs to work
Ultraviolent Waves- We get ultraviolet waves from the sun
X-ray Waves- We use x-ray waves to look at our teeth in the dentist and at the airport during security
Gamma Waves- We use gamma waves to look into our bodies at the doctors
