Dominican University's department of athletics recently participated in a NCAA research program to learn more about graduation and academic success rates.

Numbers based on research of the 2009-2010 freshman class
Dominican University's department of athletics was one of 193 NCAA Division III institutions to participate in the study.
The graduation rate of the 193 institutions was 68%.
The department of athletics at Dominican University had a 67% graduation rate.
In addition to graduation rate, the study looked into the Academic Success Rate (ASR), taking into account those that graduate or left the university in good standing.
The national average ASR was 87%.
Dominican University's department of athletics' ASR was 88%.
On Monday, February 6, Dominican University's Tim Robertson was named to the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week presented by Scoutware. Robertson averaged 30.0 points and 9.5 rebounds in a pair of games for the Stars and hit an improbable game-tying three at the end of regulation against Concordia Wisconsin that week.
The Dominican University women's basketball team is in the midst of the program's most successful season in recent history, winning seven out of their last 11 games to improve to 8-15 heading into the final two games of the season.
After dropping their season opener to #14 NYU, the Stars have hit their stride, winning their next six matches, including opening MCVL play a perfect 3-0. Dominican's Nick Timreck currently ranks second nationally in blocks at 1.29 blocks per set while the Stars boast three hitters in the top 50 nationally in hitting percentage in Ethan Klosak (.381), Luke Spicer (.359) and Michal Kawa (.339).
The Dominican University men's basketball team is in the thick of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC), looking to qualify for the conference tournament for the first time since the 2012-2013 season. With two games to play, Dominican sits in sixth place, needing just one more win to qualify for the conference tournament.
The River Forest Rivalry Cup series picks back up this week with Concordia Chicago visiting Dominican University for men's basketball on Tuesday, February 14, and women's basketball on Wednesday, February 15. At the end of the academic year, the school with the most points will take home the traveling trophy for the inaugural year.
On January 20th, alums of the men's and women's basketball program came back to the Igini Sports Forum for the annual Dominican University Basketball Alumnae/i Games. More than 45 alums participated in the games while 70-plus guests watched the event and participated in the postgame reception on the Collins Running Track.
Dominican University’s faculty-staff walking program, Walk It Out DU, sponsored by Dominican University Intramurals and the Healthy Living Committee, began on Monday, January 30, and runs through Friday, April 28. For more information contact Dan Ames at firstname.lastname@example.org.
On Sunday, February 12, Dominican University student-athletes volunteered their afternoon with the Trinity Volunteer Corps and Feed6 to help pack more than 33,000 meals for local homeless and hungry children, families, seniors and vets.
