Plate Tectonics is the theory that Earth's outer shell is separated into many plates that interact in many ways

The difference between Continental Drift and Plate Tectonics Theory is that Continental Drift is dealing more with the movements of the continents while Plate Tectonics is earths plates (that are below the continents) that move.

Rocks that were formed millions of years ago to show the location of the magnetic poles, and the magnetic alignment is different now than it was millions of years ago.
