Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief By: rick riordan

Published in 2005, Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief takes place in a camp in the woods on Long Island and New York City. The author of this book, Rick Riordan, was a teacher at a school in Texas and quit his job to create this series originally based on bedtime stories he told to his son.

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is about a character named Percy Jackson, who is the son of the Greek god Poseidon. Percy has severe dyslexia and ADHD, which is a side effect of being a Greek demigod.

In Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, Percy is just an average teenager living a normal live and when his school goes on a field trip to a museum he is a attacked by his teacher that turned into a Fury and tries to kill him. His mother is then kidnapped by a group of Titans from the underworld who holds her for ransom. Percy and friends go on a trip from NYC to Las Vegas to try to save his mother than back to NYC to save the world from a war between the gods.

I liked Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief because is was the first in a long series about Greek Gods and Greek mythology that I really enjoy

The only thing I don't like about the book is, every couple of chapters the focus of the book is shifted to a different character in the story.
