Pineapple Award Time!

We feel very grateful for the amazing staff we have at OCMS. One way we would love to showcase them is our "Pineapple Award". The Pineapple is a sign of welcoming behavior, friendliness, support and overall positivity. Please take a moment and select a staff member to receive the "Pineapple Award" of the week. The staff member with the most nominations will get a certificate and have the Pineapple on their desk for the week. Then the following week, we will move it to the next deserving staff member. Remember to think of any staff member- teacher, counselor, cook, front office team.... we want to celebrate them!

Please click this link to fill out a nomination form! We will announce the winners in our newsletters. Thanks!

Thank you to all the parents and volunteers for making our Valentine Dance such a success! Our PTSA and Boosters had a great turn out of over 300 students who came, ate lots of pizza, and boogied to the latest jams. Kids truly had a great time!

We also want to say THANK you to all the parents who have been sending in goodies to our school for the staff. On this past Friday we had "teacher treats" for the staff including chips and chocolates. It was a "sweet" way for our staff to know they are appreciated!

The Kentucky Department of Education posts a "School Report Card" every year indicating how our school is doing on assessments, behavior, attendance and overall satisfaction.

Here is our link for our Report Card: HERE

Take a moment to look at our school. You will see we are making great progress in almost every area. We are growing in reading and math, especially with students with an IEP.

We, as a school and administrative team have analyzed our data and made careful decisions with our Continuous School Improvement Plan for next year so that we can continue making great strides in math and reading in increase our success in writing and science.
