Dr. Thomas McGehee recipient of Outstanding Educator Award.

Dr. Thomas McGehee, right, received the Outstanding Educator Award from the Gulf Coast Association of Geological Studies. McGehee is a geology professor in the physics and geosciences department at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. He also is a licensed professional geologist. At the left is Brent Hopkins, 2016 president of the Gulf Coast Association of Geological Studies.

Texas A&M University-Kingsville announced major funding support for its Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute.

The wildlife research organization, considered by many the leading one of its kind in Texas and among the best in the nation, will receive continued funding totaling $16.5 million through 2020 from the Caesar Kleberg Foundation for Wildlife Conservation.

For years, Texas A&M-Kingsville has hosted a number of visiting Fulbright Scholars through the program’s Outreach Lecturing Fund. Dr. Nirmal Goswami, professor of political science, recently penned a guest blog about the visits for the Fulbright Scholar Program.
