#BASDproud of BASD MiniTHON

BASD MiniTHON is a joint club between Freedom and Liberty High Schools with a purpose to raise awareness of pediatric cancer and funds for Four Diamonds. This allows families with children that have cancer to focus on their children and not how they will pay the bills. Each school fundraises individually and together. This year one goal was to increase the involvement of the BASD community and we had numerous elementary schools and a couple middle schools that contributed to our goal. THANK YOU! We reached our goal and raised $130, 255.79! Way to go BASD!

Healthy tip:

Greek yogurt is heavily strained to remove liquid whey and lactose, leaving behind a tangy, creamy product. Plain Greek yogurt has double the protein, half the carbs and half the sodium of the regular variety.

2017 Cops ‘n’ Kids Eleventh Annual Celebration of Reading … and the Arts and Sciences – April 22, 2017 – Students Needed to Perform

With the help of our entire community, the award-winning Cops ‘n’ Kids Children’s Literacy Program has reached a remarkable milestone, distributing more than 760,000 free books thus far. To celebrate this accomplishment, and the children of our community, we invite you to join us (rain or shine) for a day of food, fun, family, crafts, entertainment, laughter—and, of course, literacy. If you are interested in having your students perform, please contact Tammy Giampapa at for more information. Please mark your calendars—and thank you for helping us to “connect kids and community through literacy.”
