Italy is a giant pendinula that is shaped like a boot. It is famous for its Art work and historical ruins. It has a population at 59.83 million.
The Italian Alps are separated into three groups. Western Alps, Cantral Apls, and the Eastern Apls. The western Apls run North and South and have the two highest peaks Mount Viso and Mount Gran Paradiso. Central Apls Run East and West boarding France. The Eastern Apls run In between the Western and Central ALps
Far south and along with Sardinia and Sicily, are rugged mountain ranges. There are also three volcanoes in Italy. There is Mount Etna, that's on Sicily, the island volcano Stromboli, one of the Aeolian islands, and Mount Vesuvius, near Naples. Mount etna and Stromboli are still active.
Rome is the capital of Italy, It is filled with historical places like the Pantheon, Colosseum, and the buried city of Pompeii.
Venice Italy Is the capital of the Veneto region in Italy. Venice is built on 100 or more islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. Because of this, instead of roads they have canals that they float down with canoon called a ' Gondola' that is stired by a 'Gondolier'.
The Colosseum is a famous landmark located in Rome, Italy. The Colosseum is important to Italy's history. This is where Gladiators fought to the death against animals or each other for the entertainment of the wealthy.
The historical city of Pompeii was buried by a wave of dust from the eruption by the volcano, Mount Vesuvius in Nalpse, Italy 79 A.D. The city was perverse in the ash until it was discovered in 1748 by a surveying engineer. It brought Publicity to Italy.
This is the Pantheon in Rome Italy, built by, Apollodorus of Damascus. It is a modern working church called 'Basilica of Holy Mary of the Martyrs'. In side the Pantheon are three tombs, two are the Italian kings Vittorio Emanuele II and Umberto I, and one of the famous artist Raphael.
This is St. Peters Basilica, it is a Renaissance church located in Vatican City. It hold the famous sculpture Pietà that was sculpted by Michelangelo Buonarroti.
The main religion in Italy is Roman Catholic or early Christianity. The percentage of Roman Catholic in Italy is around 88%.

The Italian Language appeared after the Unification of Italy and is baced off the language Tuscan, that once was spoken only by the upper class of the Florentine society.

Folk music in Italy is mostly instrumental and is done with Guitar, Violin, or a Flute. In Northern Italy there is traditional Yodeling.

Italy is famous for they're pasta.Pastas appearance dated back to 1154 in Sicily. Its easy to make and is pretty good! Pasta is made by mixing durum wheat flour with water or eggs and then is cut in to small pieces that's cooked by boiling or baking.

Italy's popular sport is Football (Soccer), there are both a man and women team. The men's team recently one against Liechtenstein in World Cup, with 0-4.
May 1915 Italy joined WWI to side with the Alliance Powers. Italy fought mostly against Austria-Hungary along the boarder and up in the now Italian Alps and along the Isonzo river.
The Italian Wars lasted from 1494-1559. Countries were fighting for dominance of Italy. The wars started in 1494 when the French King, Charles VIII tried to invade Italy, but was driven out. In 1499 Louis XII Invaded Italy and took Milan, Genoa, and Naples, but was driven out by Ferdinand V and Pope Julius II. In 1526 Emperor Charles V captured and forced Francis I to sign the Treaty of Madrid, though once freed Pope rejected the contract and made an alliance with the surrounding countries. In 1529 Charles V forced the Pope to come to terms and give up all claims to Italy.
Donato di Niccolò di Betto Bardi, known as Donatello was an early Renaissance sculptor born in Florence, Italy. He built the tomb of Antipope John XXIII, Sculpted the statue of Saint George.
Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino, also known as, Raphael was an Italian Renaissance Painter and architect. He was born in Urbino, Italy. His art work was very inflectional in his time.
Michelangelo born in Caprese Michelangelo, Italy. He was a sculptor, painter, architect, and a poet. Some of his works are Pietà, David, The Creation of Adam, The Last Judgment, and the Sistine Chapel ceiling.
Leonardo da Vinci was born in a small village called Anchiano Vinci in Tuscany, Italy. Da Vinci was a famous artist, mathematician , Inventor, and Architec. Some of his famous works are The Mona lisa, The Last Supper, and the Milan Cathedral.
Rome, Italy is the home the current Pope, Pope Francis. He is 266th Pope. Before becoming Pope he was the Bishop of Rome. Francis real name is Jorge Mario Bergoglio
Paolo Gentiloni is the newly elected Prime Minister of Italy after the latest Prime Minister Matteo Renzi resigned. He is 62 and on the on the Democratic Party.
Sergio Mattarella is the President of Italy. Sergio is in the Democratic Party. Italy is a Constitutional Republic and has been Republic since June 1946 when Italy was an Anarchy contrary.
Giada De Laurentiis was born in Rome, Italy. She is a famous Chef and Writer. She starred in the cooking shows Everyday Italian and Giada at Home. She has written 8 cooking book and a 12 book series called 'Recipe for Adventure'.
The Sprouse twin Dylan and Cole are from Arezzo, Italy. They played the twins Zack and Cody in 'The Suite Life of Zack and Cody' , ' Suite Life on Deck', 'The Suite Life Movie' , 'Big Daddy' , ext. The twins even wrote a book series called 'The Betrayal' or also known as the R.O.N.I.N books.
