Costume Parade October 31st
October 31st will be our annual dress-up day. Students may wear costumes and walk outside for all to see. The parade will start near the PreK playground, then move around the rear of the building. Next we move all of the way past the maintenance area, while finally circling the building back to the front door. We will only be passing around one time, so we have extended the viewing area to include the maintenance road and the road near the playground. Parents are welcome to park out front and walk to the rear of the building to see the parade. Our plan is to have PreK lead the way with the 5th grade serving as our last group.
Please note that we do not allow face paint, full-masks, nor weapons during the school dress-up day. We hope you can join us for this fun event.
Preschool and Extended Day Payment Update
Our Unipay site is now up and running. We can start accepting payments for extended day and preschool through a variety of methods. Below is the link.
JRB Music Ensemble News
ATTENTION BEGINNER BAND STUDENTS: Beginner Band rehearsals began yesterday, Tuesday, October 22nd after school, from 3-4 pm on the stage. Please remind your child to bring their instruments to school EVERY TUESDAY for band. If your child usually attends Extended Day on Tuesdays, they will report there first, then attend band rehearsal. If your child is usually a bus rider or pick up, please send a note into school indicating that they will be staying for band every Tuesday from 3-4 pm. Pickup will occur in the lobby promptly at 4 pm, and Extended Day students who are staying afterward will report back to Extended Day. If you are picking up your child after rehearsal, please check out with Mrs. Lordan before leaving the building.
ADVANCED BAND musicians will be participating in the annual Marching Spartans Band Night this Friday, October 25th, during the Oakmont football game. Details and registration information were emailed to Advanced Band parents. If you do not receive this information and your child is in Advanced Band, or if you have any questions, please email Mrs. Lordan: mlordan@awrsd.org
Music Lessons
We offer lessons for students in grades K-5 for voice, piano, guitar, ukulele and violin. If your child is interested in lessons for any of these instruments, please email Mrs. Lordan at mlordan@awrsd.org, and she will put you in touch with an instructor who has openings for that instrument.
