Globalization- Making the world stronger or weaker?
Globalization is making the world stronger. Globalization is making the world stronger because products get cheaper for the consumer. Products are cheaper because globalization allows for companies to be allowed to produce items in the countries that are willing to be paid less for the same work that would have costed more in the home country of the company. This then means that products are cheaper for the consumer, because the company can make their product for cheaper, and then they can sell it for cheaper. Another way that globalization is making the world stronger is that people who desperatly need a job can get a job. For example, some people may think that “Sweatshops” are bad, but in reality, they are actually good because it gives many people job opportunities they’ve never had before. This then means that these people can make money to support the family, and/or their selves. Even though think sweatshops are horrible because they pay so little for the work that they do and the environment they are in, but the thing is, that they are at least making something. And a little amount of money, is more than no money. Globalization is making the world stronger because over all, even though their are many downsides to globalization, the positive things over power the negative things, so much that is helping the economy, and uniting the world.
Mt. Everest, is it worth the risk or not?
Climbing Mount Everest is worth the risk for several reasons. One reason why climbing Mt. Everest is worth the risk is because, if/when you get to the top, the view is absolutely spectacular. The view is really good because you can see China on one side of you, and Nepal on the other. In addition, the Himalayas are surrounding you almost everywhere you look. Another reason why climbing Mt. Everest is worth the risk is because, you learn some really useful skills, such as patience and teamwork. You learn these skills because when you are at base camp, you have to wait about 2 weeks to “acclimatize”. Also, you learn teamwork when if there a big gullie, or a steep cliff that you needed to use a ladder to climb, you have to use teamwork and help each other out with the ladder lifting, and getting each other across. All in all, it is worth the hard journey to summit Mt. Everest. Even if you don't quite make it to the top, at least you tried, and that's got to be worth something right?
How might having a valuable resource affect a region?
Having a valuable resource affects a region in some negative ways. One way that a valuable resource affects a region in a negative way is that wars can break out. Wars can break out because since that region has so many oil reserves that not many other places have, other countries might try to take their Non-renewable resource so they can get the money from it. Another way that a valuable resource affects a region in a negative way is that the government can get greedy with all the new-found money. When the government gets greedy with all the money that they now have is that they don’t spread it out evenly. What happens when they don’t spread the money out evenly among the people is that some people in the country could be very wealthy, while the other people are living on the streets with almost nothing. Even though it is good that some of these countries have access to this rare resource, there are many downsides to having that resource as well, which balances out to be that it is almost better to just not be involved in this precious resource at all.
How did the European colonization of Africa impact life there today?
European colonization has affected Africa in a positive way. One way that European colonization has affected Africa in a positive way is that with European rule, the people of Africa can have a stable government. They will have a stable government because, they are in direct rule by a major nation. This is good because then the people and the nation will most likely have economical success. A second way that European colonization has affected Africa in a positive way is that, they will be more connected to what is going on in the rest of the world. This is important for the people of Africa because, if they were in a French colony, they could eventually become a French citizen because of French assimilation. Even though there was many conflicts and bad things that happened while the Europeans were trying to colonize Africa, in the long run, the European colonization of Africa will benefit the African people.
Question: What forces work for and against supranational cooperation among nations?
In the European Union (EU), there are many Centripetal forces that unite Europe. For example, people who live in countries in the EU have a European citizenship. This means that they can travel almost anywhere in Europe, without the hassle of dealing with borders. In addition, the EU has created a cultural identity by having a common flag, anthem, and a holiday. This means that citizens think of Europe as a united continent, rather than lots of diverse nations. Even though there are centrifugal forces that pull apart the EU, the centripetal forces often override the bad things about the EU.
Question: What is the most effective style of government and why?
Answer: Constitutional Monarchy is the most effective style of government. The first reason a Constitutional Monarchy is the most effective style of government is, unlike Absolute Monarchy’s, there is a constitution in which everybody, even the king, has to follow. This makes that the king can not do anything that is mean, or unfair, which is good because otherwise the king could have too much power, and then he could abuse it. The second reason a Constitutional Monarchy is the most effective style of government is that, it is easier for the citizens because they do not have to vote, they can just wait for the next person in the royal family to step up to the throne. This is good because, the citizens do not have to worry about politics and such like voting for candidates, like citizens have to do in democracy. As history has shown, Constitutional Monarchy’s, such as Sweden, have successful governments.
