AND THEN …
Sometimes you’re caught off guard. Life is going the way it’s supposed to go, you’re doing what you’re supposed to do and you know all the right answers to all the right questions.
AND THEN …
The unexpected happens, and you realize nothing is what you thought it would be.
AND THEN …You come face-to-face with genuine love and acceptance you didn’t think was possible. You experience a power that is unstoppable.
Simon Peter was a simple man minding his own business, doing the things a fisherman does. One early morning he was exhausted and frustrated, having spent an entire night fishing with nothing to show for it. Things just didn’t seem to be going his way.
AND THEN …
He met Jesus.
Join MOVE in 2017 as we look at several stories from the life of Simon Peter and see what kinds of “AND THEN …” moments Jesus might have in store for you.
Move is a 5-day high school (8-12th grade) only event, designed to equip and mobilize high schoolers for Kingdom impact.
A week of MOVE is built upon four core concepts designed specifically to speak to high schoolers.
Intense, interactive worship with some of today’s best worship bands creating an atmosphere that will draw you closer to God while setting the tone for each session
Dynamic teaching from renowned student ministry leaders and teacher to challenge you to dig into Biblical truth at a level everyone can understand
Community is an important aspect and through tournaments like dodge ball and volley ball you will have the opportunity to build community with other kingdom workers
An environment is created for you to clearly hear Christ’s call on your life to be a Kingdom worker. This is a call to do more than just attend an event but to live beyond the event.
Located in the heart of beautiful Holland, Michigan, Hope College has quickly become a very popular site for MOVE. The Hope campus offers a rare combination of a very safe environment in close proximity to numerous retail and dining options. With downtown a short walk from campus, attendees are able to enjoy the shops and cafes in the heart of Holland. A sandy beach on Lake Michigan waits just a 15 minute drive from campus. The campus offers lots of green space and numerous recreation opportunities and mild summer weather makes spending time outside very enjoyable.
A Kingdom Worker is a Christian who uses whatever sphere of influence he or she has to proclaim the message of Jesus. Kingdom Workers include school teachers, moms, high school basketball players, bass guitarists, doctors and a countless list of others. Their ministry may look different, but they have each surrendered to Jesus, and are committed to using their gifts, abilities and relationships to advance his Kingdom.
At MOVE, students are called to be Kingdom workers. They are challenged to not only grow in their faith in Christ, but to also show the love of Christ to the world around them. Whether students are simply nicer to their teachers in school or choose to try and end world hunger, MOVE encourages students to make a difference no matter where they are or what they do. In the past, MOVE has raised up students who have fed 500 families on Thanksgiving, built wells with clean water in Zambia, worked to stop sex-trafficking in Cambodia, and clothed the homeless in their community.
