Strawberry Cheesecake Bars How to: By: Ellie Barker

  • 1 box strawberry cake mix
  • 1/2 stick butter, melted
  • 1 egg

  • 1 package cream cheese, softened (8 ounces)
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 pint heavy cream
  • 1 c. sliced strawberries

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 F

Step 2: Make Strawberry Cake crust:

  1. Beat cake mix, melted butter and egg until thoroughly combined. (The dough will be pebble-like—closer to a pie crust than cake batter.)

2. Press the dough in an even layer on the bottom of a greased 9-inch by 9-inch baking pan and cook for 5-7 minutes.

While it is baking make the Cheesecake-flavored Whipped Cream:

1.Whip cream cheese and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.

2. Pour in the heavy cream and beat until stiff peaks form

Around the time you are done with this the crust will be done baking, take it out of the oven and leave it to cool for 20 minutes.

It should look about like this when it comes out.

While you're waiting for the crust to cool since you have nothing better to do, cut up the strawberry that go on top of the cheesecake bars, the recipe calls for 1 cup but I cut up a whole container because I like strawberries and knew my friends were going to eat some anyways.

Once the crust is done cooling, spread in an even layer atop it and refrigerate at least two hours, or overnight. I recommend as longer than two hours I waited two hours and it ended up being kind of runny.

Once it is done, take it out and decorate it anyway you choose and then share with friends.
