The Brazilian Student Association at San Diego State University

The Brazilian Student Association (BRASA) at SDSU promotes aspects of the Brazilian culture on campus, help new Brazilian students to settle down in the University’s environment, and establish an official communication link between Portuguese language learners and Brazilian students.

Founded on Fall 2015 BRASA at San Diego State has now over 35 members and is constantly increasing its influence on campus

A BRASA é uma organização sem fins lucrativos que se constitui de uma rede de estudantes brasileiros que estão morando fora de seu país de origem em busca de novos sonhos e desafios. Atualmente, a BRASA conta com mais de 2700 membros e está presente em 65 universidades ao redor do mundo, em países como Estados Unidos, Inglaterra, França e Canadá. Na BRASA, temos a ambição de até 2025 sermos a organização referência para brasileiros que querem estudar, estudam ou já estudaram no exterior. Queremos ser reconhecidos como uma máquina formadora de líderes, empreendedores e causadores de mudança no setor público, privado e social. Temos, também, o sonho de empoderar a próxima geração de líderes por um Brasil melhor - sonho este que é compartilhado por cada membro da BRASA, e que é a razão principal pela qual esse time de apaixonados se une para trabalhar diariamente; é o norte de tudo que fazemos. Ao centro de seus valores, a BRASA tem proatividade, excelência, meritocracia e comprometimento com o Brasil.

The Martial Arts of Freedom

Come to the ENS Field this Thursday, April 6th, to learn how to fight Israeli Krav Maga and discover the ginga and other movements of Brazilian Capoeira!

Two different types of martial arts developed by two peoples of different backgrounds, but sharing a common purpose: the fight for freedom of an opressed group.

Learn how to samba, enjoy authentic Brazilian food, have the chance to win a pair of Havaianas, and dance like you would at a real BRAZILIAN CARNAVAL!

This TUESDAY, February 21, from 5PM to 8PM at the courtyard of the Aztec Student Union. Event open and FREE to all SDSU students!

Hosted by ASUB, with the help of the SDSU BRASA to make sure that this will be the best typical Brazilian Carnaval we ever had!
