News from the WESD

Welcome back to another wonderful school year. I am Paul Stanton the proud Superintendent of the Washington Elementary School District (WESD). Thank you for being a valued partner of the District. Your love and support helps us provide the best educational experience for our students. As the year gets started, I wanted to share some fast facts about the District:

Identifying Gifted Pre-K Learners - Introducing Project SPROUT

Jason McIntosh, 602-347-2651, jason.mcintosh@wesdschools.org

We are emphasizing our pre-kindergarten programs this year. We know that if children are prepared for kindergarten, they will start their academic careers on solid ground and grow. This year, Dr. Jason McIntosh, our gifted coordinator, will be working with all our Pre-K programs to identify and support our high potential and gifted students. WESD is one of the few Districts in the state offering this specialized training at each elementary school.
