Little Big History Project On jeeps By: Easton Wilkening

1941 Jeep Willys

The first Jeep rolled off the assembly line was in November 1941 and it was a Jeep Willys. The Jeep Willys is known as the largest production vehicle Jeep ever produced. It is still the largest produced vehicle Jeep has ever produced to this day. And it is also known as the first vehicle the military used in combat and for the MP(military police) unit. The government couldn't figure out what to name it they thought of blitz boggy, Pete, and Midget. Then the two companies that produced the jeep at the time didn't really like the names the government thought of so they put their two company names and combined them together and came up with jeep.
