Schroeder Spirit Wear – We are excited to announce that we are having another Schroeder Spirit Wear Clothing Sale! Many families have asked to purchase more items! You may want to look for a few new items added to the catalog. Also, remember that we now have Schroeder Spirit Days every Wednesday. Every Wednesday, students and staff wear Schroeder gear or green clothing. Show your Schroeder spirit!

Families can order Schroeder clothing online through the Varsity Shop (located in Birmingham on Adams Road). Please make sure that you read the information completely when you submit your order. Since parents order directly through the Varsity Shop, Schroeder Elementary is not responsible for incorrect orders or defective clothing items. Click the link below to place your order.

  • Online Store Opens: Monday, February 15th
  • Online Store Closes: Sunday, February 28th at 11:59pm (The store will NOT reopen due to late orders.)
  • Picking Up Your Order: The Varsity Shop will send an email when the order is complete. Orders will be picked up at the Varsity Shop. If preferred, parents can select a Varsity Shop curbside pick-up option or a flat rate shipping charge.
  • Projected Pick Up Date: During the week of Monday, March 22nd

Sign-Up for Picture Day! - Picture day will be held after school on Monday, March 15th and Tuesday, March 16th, from 3:30pm to 6:30pm both days. These days are virtual learning for all students. Photographers will be set up in the two front hallways at Schroeder. Students must enter at the designated exterior door location and not through other doors of the school.

  • Please sign-up for only one time slot per child.
  • Please have your child bring their picture envelope/form with them to their appointment. See attached printable envelope/form. Extras will be made available to those who need them.
  • Camera Station A: Enter through the main front doors of the building to the left of the flagpole. Look for door #1.
  • Camera Station B: Enter through the front doors of the building that are located to the right of the flagpole. Look for door #28.
  • Parents will need to remain outside the doors while their child gets their photo taken. Parents are not allowed inside the building.
  • Please be aware that photographers will not be adjusting the students’ hair, clothes, etc. Please do this before sending your child inside for their picture.
  • Adults and children must wear a mask. Students will temporarily remove the mask for their picture. Remember to practice social distancing.
  • Please leave the premises promptly after your child(ren)’s photograph has been taken.

Submit Photos for the Yearbook - In an effort to bring normalcy to a year that has been anything but normal, there will still be a 2020/2021 Schroeder yearbook! We are asking families to upload some candid pictures of their children taken during their virtual learning to be included in the yearbook. Please see the instructions below on how to upload your photos.

Spring Conferences Update - Spring Parent Teacher Conferences will be held in late March via the Zoom platform. We are currently creating a sign-up schedule for parents of all families. Unlike previous years, all students will have a Spring conference in lieu of a second marking period report card. Please know that the conference will replace your child having a report card for this marking period.

March is Reading Month - March is Reading Month (M.I.R.M.) is just around the corner! Please add the following dates to your calendar. Detailed information will be sent out later this month.

  • February 24 through February 26th: Families pick-up M.I.R.M. packets (In-seat students will receive their packets at school)
  • March 10: M.I.R.M. Family Night on Zoom

A Warm Welcome Home! - After a three month hospital stay battling Covid19, Isabella's father stopped by the Schroeder main entrance to surprise her with the good news. He fought the virus and won. Mrs. Botsford's students investigated force and motion as part of the 3rd grade science unit!
For Valentine's Day, Mrs. Leigh's class wrote letters to senior citizens in the local community! Dragons showing Schroeder kindness in such meaningful ways. Way to go!
First Graders in Mrs. Losh's class celebrated the 100th day of school last week. Students counted 100 items from their collection bags. Nice job!

Kindergarten celebrated the 100th day of school by dressing up as 100 year old folks and partaking in different counting to 100 activities!
