General information- When you have Type 2 Diabetes sugar or glucose can not get into your cells and therefore it stays in your blood stream. This causes an excess amount of sugar in your blood stream causing high blood sugar. In order to know your blood sugar, you have to use a monitor to test the concentration of glucose in the blood. Blood glucose monitoring reveals individual patterns of blood glucose changes. This helps the planning of meals, activity, and what time to take your medicine. Exercise is a great way to bring down blood sugar levels. Unchecked high blood sugar levels gradually damages blood vessels in your body. Low blood sugar can lead to hypoglycemia, which puts you at the risk for confusion and loss of consciousness. High blood sugar causes fatigue, so make sure to be consistent with blood sugar testing.
