Robbin Williams was born in Chicago, Illinois. He had 2 older brothers. He often credited his mother for being an influence on him early in life for his sense of humor because always tired to get her attention and make her laugh.

After high school, Robin enrolled in college to study political science but dropped out in order to peruse acting. In 1973 he was granted a full scholarship to Julliard School in New York City. However, in his Junior year he dropped out of Julliard too.

Jonathan Winters was Robin Williams Idol because Robin was inspired by his ingenuity. Later, he gave Robin the idea that humor could be free-form and that he could go in and out of things easily.

Robin Williams had many hardships in his life including battling depression and drug addiction. For most of his life he was addicted to cocaine and had very bad depression which resulted in his suicide.

Robin made comedy clubs popular by encouraging and inspiring stand up comedians to audition there. After taking pictures with the club owners to be displayed on the walls.
