Students will be able to recognize, describe, and draw the life cycle of a monarch caterpillar

To "show" the students, they will watch this video describing the life cycle of a butterfly

The students will be able to categorize the steps in the life cycle of a monarch butterfly, as well as compare it to the life cycle of a frog

Students will use manipulatives to organize and color out-of-order life cycles into a presentation with partner

Students will be able to use their knowledge of the life cycle of animals to create their own life cycle of a fictitious monster, using similar steps to those seen in the life cycles of a frog and of a butterfly

Example of a student's monster which would include life cycle stages such as egg, legless monster, pupa, adult monster - with corresponding illustrations for each stage
