Jackie Robinson And how the world would be without hIm

Have you ever heard of Jackie Robinson if you haven't this will tell you what you need to know.

Jackie Robinson was the first baseball player to break the color barrier and enter the major leagues.

Before he went to the major leagues he played in the negro leagues. The negro leagues is where black baseball players played at the time because America was segregated.

Branch Ricky signed Robinson in 1945 not just because of his baseballl skills he also singed him because he was smart and intelligent.

Even though Jackie Robinson got signed, his teammates still didn't want to play with him because of the color of his skin. This shows that people judge other people because of the color of their skin.

Jackie got a lot of mean things from fans and players but instead of getting angry he stayed calm and hit .297 and scored 157 runs!!!

In 1956 Jackie retired. When he retired most of the teams were integrated.

Jackie was the first black baseball player to enter the hall of fame.

Sadly he died at the age of 53 in 1972 it was a major upset for a ton of sports fans.

To honor the anniversary of his debut, the MLB retired his number (42) from all the teams. This shows that the color of people skin does not matter!
