The Renaissance By: Lillian Botello

Marco Polo and the Silk Road

The reopening of the Silk Road helped spark the Renaissance. It helped spark the Renaissance by trade increasing in Europe and Asia after people started to get curious about Marco Polo and his travels. "People began to demand goods from Asia." (Holt300). This evidence shows that since Marco Polo went on travels and told people about Asia, he had made Asia famous for trading. Basically it sparked the Renaissance by trade in Europe and Asia.

This is Marco Polo.
Left: This is Marco Polo at the kingdom and talking with the emperor Kublai Khan. Right: This is a map of the routes that Marco Polo went on for the Silk Road.
