Iris Flower of the Day

Vincent Van Gogh painted two pictures depicting Irises. These pictures were very famous and highly prized.

Iris comes from the Greek language mean "rainbow" . Irises come in many colors such as white, yellow, orange, pink, purple, lavender, blue, or even brown, and can grow between 8 to 38 inches in height. Irises are a perennial plant, and can survive up to two years in the wild. Fun Fact: The juices squeezed from the plants can be used to improve the condition of your skin. You can also use the root as a body cleanse because it contains substances with laxative, diuretic, and emetic.
