Promise to Return God's Promises

Revelation 22:7 - "Behold, I am coming soon!" (NIV)
1 Corinthians 7:31 - This world is passing away.
Matthew 24:36 - "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." (NIV)

In light of Jesus' promise to return, how should we live?

Matthew 24:42 - "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come." (NIV)
Luke 18:8 - "...when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?" (NIV)

Be alert. Be ready. Make sure that your life and character is in a state of readiness at the coming of Jesus. Walking in holiness and faith before God keeps you in the state of watchfulness for Jesus to come.

Matthew 25:21 - "His master replied, ’Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!" (NIV)

Get busy using the talents that God has put in your hand. Don't squander your time or gifts. Jesus is returning and wants to see that you have been faithful with what he has given you. Invest your talents into the kingdom, and you will certainly reap a reward.

Matthew 25:40 - "The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." (NIV)

What is important to Jesus? He wants us to feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty, clothe the naked, visit those in prison, care for the sick and welcome the stranger. These things make an eternal difference as we wait for the coming of Jesus. See Matthew 25:31-46.

Jesus is coming. That's his promise. Will you be ready?
